Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you might want to know first
Healing is a personal journey, and it is reasonable to want to know exactly what you are walking into. If something is not answered here, just ask.
Getting started
Who are these healing sessions for?
These sessions are for anyone seeking emotional balance, inner calm, stress relief or a deeper connection with themselves. No prior healing or meditation experience is required, and most people who come to us have never done anything like it before.
Is this therapy or medical treatment?
No. Nurturing Souls offers holistic healing experiences focused on emotional and mental well-being. They are not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment. If what you are carrying needs clinical care, we will say so directly and help you find it.
Do I need any prior experience with meditation or healing?
Not at all. Every session is gently guided and designed to work for complete beginners as well as experienced practitioners. Nothing is assumed and nothing is rushed.
Are the sessions safe?
Yes. All experiences are held in a safe, supportive environment by trained facilitators, and you are guided at your own pace. You can pause or stop at any point, for any reason, without needing to explain yourself.
How should I prepare for a session or retreat?
Come with an open mind, comfortable clothing and a willingness to experience rather than analyse. Eat lightly beforehand, and give yourself somewhere unhurried to go afterwards. Specific preparation details are shared before each event.
Practical questions
Where are sessions held?
In-person sessions are held in Gurugram, Haryana, and we work with people across Delhi NCR. One-to-one sessions such as inner child healing and mirror work are also available online. Retreats and soul festivals take place at locations in and around Delhi NCR, announced with each event.
How do I book a session?
Share your details through the form on this website, or message us on WhatsApp. We will call you back for a short, no-obligation conversation to understand what you are looking for before anything is booked.
How much do sessions and retreats cost?
Pricing depends on the format, the length of the work and whether it is one-to-one or a group experience. We share current pricing on enquiry so we can recommend what actually fits rather than selling you the longest option.
Do you offer sessions for organisations?
Yes. Our corporate wellness programs bring emotional well-being and resilience workshops into workplaces, from single sessions to longer series. Get in touch with your team size and what you are hoping to address.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made 7 days or more before an event are eligible for a limited refund. Later cancellations are generally non-refundable unless your seat is filled by another participant. Full details are on our Refund and Cancellation Policy page.
Is everything I share kept confidential?
Yes. Anything you share in a session or on an intake form is treated as confidential and is used only to tailor the work to you. Our Privacy Policy sets out exactly how personal and health information is handled.
About the sessions
Do I need to know how to meditate to attend a sound bath?
No. A sound bath asks nothing of you except to lie down and listen. There is no technique to learn and nothing to get right, which is why it is often the first thing we suggest to people who have found meditation frustrating.
What does a sound bath actually feel like?
Most people describe a heaviness in the body and a slowing of thought within the first ten minutes. Some drift in and out of sleep, some feel emotion rise and pass. All of these are normal and none of them are a sign you are doing it wrong.
What should I bring or wear?
Comfortable, loose clothing and warm socks. Mats, bolsters and blankets are provided. Bring a light layer, since body temperature drops as you settle.
Is a sound bath safe if I am pregnant or have a medical condition?
Sound baths are gentle, but tell us beforehand if you are pregnant, have epilepsy, a pacemaker, or a sound-sensitivity condition, so we can adapt the session or advise you honestly if it is not suitable.
How cold is the water and how long do I stay in?
Between 4°C and 10°C, and usually two to four minutes. First-timers often start at thirty seconds. You set the limit, you are told you can leave at any moment, and nobody is counted down or cheered on.
Is ice bath therapy safe?
For most healthy adults, yes, when it is supervised. It is not suitable if you have a heart condition, uncontrolled high or low blood pressure, Raynaud's, epilepsy, or are pregnant. We ask about your health before you book and will tell you honestly if we think it is not for you.
Do I need to be fit to try it?
No. Cold immersion is not an athletic test. What it asks for is a willingness to breathe slowly while your body is telling you to panic, and that is available to almost anyone.
What if I panic in the water?
That first gasp is a reflex, not a failure, and it is exactly what the breathing work prepares you for. Someone is beside the bath the whole time, and stepping out early is a perfectly good outcome for a first session.
Do I need to know how to swim?
No. The water is shallow, you are supported throughout, and at no point are you out of your depth. If water makes you uneasy, say so — we can keep you seated at the edge with only your legs immersed and you will still get most of the benefit.
Is the water cold?
No. Aqua meditation uses warm water, which is the opposite of ice bath therapy. Warmth is what allows the body to soften; cold is what wakes it up. They do different jobs.
What should I wear?
Swimwear you are comfortable in, and bring a towel and a change of clothes. Sessions are held in a private, unhurried setting.
What if I become emotional during the session?
That happens often and it is welcome. Water tends to loosen things that have been held for a long time. You will not be rushed, talked at, or asked to explain yourself.
Do I have to have had a traumatic childhood for this to be relevant?
No. Inner child work is not only for severe experiences. An ordinary childhood in which a particular need was quietly not met — for attention, for safety, for permission to be upset — leaves patterns that show up decades later in adult relationships.
Will I have to relive painful memories?
No. The work is trauma-aware and paced by you. We go towards a memory only as far as you can stay present, and a large part of the session is spent building the steadiness to do that safely.
Is this therapy?
These are healing sessions guided by a psychologist, and they draw on psychological understanding. They are not a substitute for clinical treatment. If what you are carrying needs clinical care, we will say so and help you find it.
How many sessions does it take?
This is slower work than a sound bath. Most people notice a shift within four to six sessions, and real integration takes longer. We will talk openly about pace rather than committing you to a package up front.
Isn't mirror work just repeating affirmations to yourself?
No, and that is the most common misunderstanding. Repeating "I love myself" over something you do not believe usually deepens the split. We start by listening to what the mind actually says, which is far more useful than overwriting it.
Why is this so uncomfortable?
Because most people have never looked at themselves without immediately assessing what needs fixing. The discomfort is information — it shows you how automatic the judgment has become.
Can I do this on my own at home?
Yes, and we will show you how. It is guided at first because the first few attempts often bring up more than people expect, and having someone steady in the room makes that manageable.
How long before it feels different?
Most people report that the volume of the inner commentary drops noticeably within a few weeks of short daily practice. Genuine warmth towards yourself takes longer and arrives quietly.
Is this a massage?
No. There is no manipulation of muscle and no treatment goal in the physical sense. Contact is still, slow and light, and its purpose is to signal safety to the nervous system rather than to work on tissue.
Do I need to undress?
No. You remain fully clothed throughout. Contact is limited to hands, shoulders, upper back and feet unless you specifically ask otherwise.
How is consent handled?
Explicitly and repeatedly. Each area is asked about before it is touched, and you are reminded through the session that you can pause, change or end anything with a single word. Nothing needs to be justified.
What if touch feels unsafe for me?
Then we do not start with touch. For many people this work begins with proximity alone — someone sitting a metre away, breathing steadily — and moves no further until that is genuinely comfortable. Some people never progress beyond that, and that is a complete outcome.
How quickly do grounding techniques work?
Most people feel a shift within two to three minutes. They are not a cure for anxiety, but they reliably interrupt a spiral before it builds, which is often what is actually needed in the moment.
Do I need to be outdoors?
No. Nature makes it easier and we use it where we can, but every practice we teach works in an office, a car or a crowded room. That portability is the point.
Is this the same as meditation?
They overlap but the aim differs. Meditation usually cultivates a sustained state over time. Grounding is immediate and situational — something you reach for when you are already activated.
Can I learn these in one session?
Yes. A single session is enough to leave with three or four practices you can use straight away. People often come back later to refine them once they know which ones suit them.
Do I need to come with someone?
Most people arrive alone. The format is built for it — the opening of every retreat is designed so that nobody spends the first evening on the edge of the room.
Will I have to share personal things in front of a group?
No. Sharing is always invited and never required, and "I'd rather not" is a complete answer that nobody will follow up on. A good number of participants speak very little and still get a great deal from the weekend.
What is the difference between a soul festival and a retreat?
A soul festival is lighter and more celebratory — music, movement, community, usually a day. A retreat is quieter and goes deeper, with longer practices, more silence and fewer people.
How do I find out about the next one?
Dates are announced on Instagram and to people who have enquired. Send us your details through the form and we will let you know when the next one opens, with no obligation.
The Unlock Your Life webinar
Do I need to have my camera on during the webinar?
No. You are welcome to keep your camera off throughout. Many participants do, and it takes nothing away from the experience.
Will I have to share anything in front of other people?
No. Sharing is always invited and never required. You can take part entirely silently and still get the full benefit of the guided practices.
What do I need to have ready?
A quiet space where you will not be interrupted, headphones if you have them, something comfortable to sit on, and about ninety minutes. Nothing else.
Is a recording available if I cannot attend live?
The webinar is held live because the guided practices work best in real time with a group. If you register and cannot attend, tell us and we will let you know about the next session.
Is this suitable if I am currently in therapy?
Usually yes, and many participants are. It is complementary rather than a replacement. If you are working with a therapist, it is worth mentioning that you are attending so the two support each other.
